Missouri 811 utility members must ensure that locate notifications are received accurately and without interruption. Proper ticket delivery setup is essential to maintaining compliance and preventing underground facility damage.

Choosing Your Ticket Receiving Method
During membership setup, each utility member selects how locate notifications will be delivered.
Available receiving methods include FTP, SFTP, email, text message, or access through the Locator Ticket Management (LTM) system.
Your selected method determines how tickets are transmitted to your organization. It is your responsibility to ensure that the method you choose is reliable and actively monitored.
If your organization changes systems, vendors, or internal processes, ticket receiving settings must be updated through the Utility Member portal.
Transmission Failure Contact Information
Missouri 811’s system monitors for failed transmissions. If an email, fax, or other transmission attempt fails, the system will use the contact information you provided to resolve the issue.
Backup Messages for High-Priority Tickets
Utility members may choose to receive backup messages as an additional alert for high-priority tickets.
Backup messages are provided as a courtesy and can be delivered by automated phone call, text message, or email. These alerts are intended to notify field personnel or office staff that immediate attention may be required.
Backup messages do not replace your primary receiving method. Your primary transmission method remains the official notification.
Secondary Receiving Locations
Some utility members require tickets to be transmitted to more than one receiving site. Secondary receiving can be configured upon request, and additional charges may apply.
If your organization requires a secondary receiving setup, contact the Membership Administrator in advance to ensure proper configuration.
Daily Audit Reports
Each day, shortly after midnight, Missouri 811 transmits a daily audit report.
The purpose of the audit report is to allow utility members to compare the number of locate notifications transmitted by Missouri 811 with the number received by their system the previous day.
Members should regularly review this report. If a locate notification appears to be missing, you may request retransmission.
There is no charge for re-transmissions. To request a re-transmission, call 573-636-1550.
Keeping Your Delivery Information Current
Utility members are responsible for maintaining accurate ticket receiving information, including email addresses, FTP credentials, and designated contacts.
Failure to update receiving information may result in missed notifications, which can increase the risk of underground facility damage and place the member out of compliance with Missouri law.
Updates to ticket receiving methods and contact information must be made through the Utility Member web portal.
